Sue and Dave Force of the Wirral have a Liverpool Unwin family which originated in Sheffield in the mid 1800s.
Henry Unwin born 1836 Sheffield, Yorkshire died 1883 Liverpool. In 1857 he married Ellen Massey born Liverpool in 1833. On the 1861 census Henry and Elle's family are George Henry 1859 and Maria 1861. The family address is 2 Court, Prince Edward Lane, Everton; Henry is a plasterer and Ellen is a dressmaker.
In 1882 George Henry married Mary Ann Tudor, born 1863 in Liverpool at St. Mary's Church, Kirkdale. They had six children all born in Liverpool: Christina 1883, George 1885, Ellen 1887, Amy 1888, Elizabeth 1890 and Jessie 1895.
In 1916 Jessie married William Francis Force (Dave Force's grandparents). William was born 1885 in Crickhowell, Breconshire, and died 1933 Wallasey, Wirral . Jessie died in 1991 in Birkenhead, Wirral.
