GENERATION SIX
John Bramhill, a labourer, is named as the father of Thomas Bramhill on Thomas's 1872 marriage certificate.
GENERATION FIVE
Thomas Bramhill was born 1846 in Much Woolton, Liverpool. It is likely that his birth name was Thomas Bramhall reflecting the various spellings found when researching the Bramhills.
He is recorded as a coachman on the 1881 census, when he lived in Garston.
He married Ann Carter, born Wavertree 1849, on May 15, 1872, in Holy Trinity Church, Wavertree. They had five children - Jane, born Wavertree, 1874; Thomas, born Aigburth, 1879; John Knowles, born 1887 Prescot; Annie, born Aigburth 1877; and William 1882. Ann's family can be traced back to 1783; contact Jeff Carter.
Thomas senior went on to run the Strickland Hotel, 33 Strickland Street, Liverpool. He died there on May 1, 1911 of double pneumonia.
GENERATION FOUR
Of Thomas's children, only John Knowles Bramhill has known descendants.
Thomas junior is believed to have emigrated to Canada on March 30, 1905, and William followed him on March 29, 1906. No contact has been made with their families.
John Knowles married Florence Adelaide Kemp, born Liverpool 1888, in West Derby in 1913. they had one child, Harry, born Nov 11, 1914. They rana sweet shop in County Road, Walton, Liverpool. He retired to a house called Richmond Park in Anfield. The Kemp family came from Scotland via Yorkshire and were prison doctors, working at Walton prison for a time. Florence Kemp's father, Harry Clement Kemp, went on to run the Bevington Bush public house in Scotland Road from 1901.
GENERATION THREE
John Knowles's son, Harry, went to Gwladys Street School, Liverpool. He worked for Cammell Laird shipbuilders in Birkenhead. Harry died on Nov 20, 2004. Harry is the grandfather of Alison Cooper and the father-in-law of Sharon Bramhill. Other details private.
